Why We Gather - Part 5 “So that my house will be full” - Luke 14v15-24// November 23rd, 2025 (Copy)
Teaching overview
Riley Taylor’s sermon on Luke 14 uses the parable of the Great Banquet to show that life with God is like a feast—full of joy, welcome, and satisfaction. He emphasizes that the church’s role is to invite people to God’s table, where the only requirement is a willing heart, not worthiness. The message calls listeners to extend God’s invitation to others while also personally responding to Jesus’ invitation to welcome Him into their own lives.
Our prayer for your Community
“Lord, help us receive Your invitation with willing hearts and lay aside anything that keeps us from fully welcoming You into our lives. And as You fill us with Your grace, empower us to invite others to Your table with the same openness and love You have shown us.”
Group questions and further meditations:
Am I responding to God’s invitation—or making excuses?
Identify one area of life where you’ve been “too busy” or distracted to welcome Jesus. What practical step can you take this week to intentionally say “yes” to Him?
2. God invites the willing, not the worthy.
Reflect on a moment when God met you despite your flaws or limitations. How might remembering His grace help you invite someone else who may feel unqualified or hesitant about faith?
3. There is still room at God’s table.
Think of one person God may be prompting you to invite—to church, to a meal, or into spiritual conversation. What is one simple, relational way you could extend that invitation this week?
