Exile to Emmanuel Part 2: “Peace in Exile” - Esther 4v1-14// December 7th, 2025
Teaching overview
Riley Taylor’s Advent message teaches that true peace—shalom—is more than the absence of conflict; it is a deep, God-given wholeness that often requires courage, sacrifice, and trust. Using the story of Esther, he shows how Mordecai and Esther pursued peace through risky obedience even when God seemed hidden. Riley encourages believers to confront the enemies of peace, practice peacemaking in everyday life, and trust God with the outcomes.
Our prayer for your Community
Lord, we ask that You fill us with the deep peace of Christ and give us courage to face the places of noise, distress, and conflict in our lives. Help us trust Your hidden work and make us faithful peacemakers in the moments You set before us this week.
Group questions and further meditations:
Shalom requires courage and honesty
Where might God be inviting you to confront a source of noise, distress, or conflict rather than avoid it?
2. God often works behind the scenes
In what area of your life do you most need to trust God’s hidden work, like Esther and Mordecai did?
3. Peacemaking is part of our calling
Who in your life might need comfort, reconciliation, or gentle truth from you this week, and what step of obedience could you take toward peace?
