On Sunday, Riley Taylor explored the biblical image of God’s kingdom as a great feast, where God invites people not because they are worthy, but because they are willing to respond. Through Luke 14, Riley reminded Mountlake Church that our mission is to invite people to God’s table, trust God with their response, and continue making room for those who are still seeking Him.
Our prayer for the Community
God, help us receive your invitation and remember that there is always room at your table. Give us courage to invite others, patience to trust you with their response, and hearts that reflect your welcome to those around us.

Is God’s mission becoming my mission?
Meditation:
Our mission begins with God’s mission: He desires to gather people to His table. We are invited to join what God is already doing rather than making the mission about ourselves.
Discussion Question:
Where do I see God inviting me to participate in His mission right now? What might it look like for me to make His mission a greater priority in my everyday life?
Am I willing to extend the invitation?
Meditation:
We invite the guests, but God sets the table. Our responsibility is to point people toward Jesus through our words, relationships, hospitality, and actions.
Discussion Questions:
Who is one person God may be inviting me to reach out to? What is one simple step I could take this week to extend God’s invitation to them?
3. Am I trusting God with the response?
Meditation:
God’s invitation is for the willing, not the worthy, and there is always room at His table. We cannot control how people respond, but we can remain faithful in inviting, praying, and trusting God to work.
Discussion Questions:
Who am I tempted to give up on because they seem unwilling or unlikely to respond to God? How can I continue to pray, love, and make room for them while trusting God with the outcome?
